California Rapper Nate Dogg Dies at 41

It’s a sad day in the music world today, and in California in particular, with the news that California Rapper Nathaniel Hale, aka Nate Dogg has died at the young age of 41.  The Long Beach, CA native died yesterday after fighting years of health issues, including a stroke in 2007 and another in 2008.

Nate Dogg was one of the pioneers of West Coast G-Funk, though was soon overshadowed by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Warren G.  After dropping out of high school, and serving 3 years in the Marines, Nate Dogg formed the group 213, in 1991 with then unknown Snoop Dogg and Warren G.  Nate Dogg had been nominated for a Grammy 4 times in his long music career, while working with Warren G, Dre, Snoop Dog, and Eminem most recently.

The tweet memorial on Nate Dogg was in full swing last night from many musicians including Snoop Dogg, Daz, Ludacris, and many more celebrities.
