The Long Island NY Gilgo Beach body count rose again today, with Suffolk County Police Commissioner announcing the discovery of an additional 3 bodies on Gilgo Beach. This raised the total number of bodies found since December 2010 to eight.
Police were searching a remote area off of Ocean Parkway this morning when they found the three additional bodies. The additional bodies increase the likelihood that the Long Island area has a serial killer in their midst, though police have not come out and confirmed the new bodies are related to the four found in December.
The four bodies found in December were clearly all related given that they were wrapped in burlap, and that all four females found had been listed on Craigslist as prostitutes. Police have not named any suspects in these killings at this time. They continue to search the Ocean Parkway area, and plan to widen their search area, possibly into Nassau county.
