In the good news department, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has been released from the Houston hospital she’s been treated in since she was shot in the head some 5 months ago.
Gifford, an Arizona congresswoman, will continue to live in the Houston area so that she can continue outpatient therapy at TIRR Memorial Hermann therapists. Lucky for Rep Giffords, her astronaut husband, Mark Kelly, has a house in League City, where they will live while she continues her therapy.
Gifford who was close to death after being shot in the head January 8 at a rally in Arizona, is now said to be walking on her own and can speak and understand conversations.
We at California Examiner wish her a continued speedy recovery.
