Summer is almost at end and the children are back in school but you still want a place to get away from it on maybe on the weekend or on their fall break. And even though the economy is spiraling downward at an ever increasing pace, and your 401k is smaller than it was 10 years ago, your kids still expect a vacation. Here are some inexpensive places that you might want to consider heading off too.
- Orlando, Florida—Even though people usually visit Disney World when they go to Florida, there are some great free and inexpensive attractions in Orlando. You also have the beach. When you visit the many theme parks in the area purchase combo tickets to save you money by granting you entry to four or five theme parks with a combo ticket.
- Chicago, Illinois—When you visit this great city invest in a Go Chicago Card or a Chicago CityPass to get great discounts on the admission to some of the city’s top places to visit like the Field Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago.
- Aspen, Colorado—In addition to the great skiing. At this time of the year there are many other outdoor activities to do such as hiking, biking, and taking pictures of the golden autumn foliage of the Aspen trees.
- Atlanta, Georgia—When you visit Atlanta make sure that you take advantage of the Atlanta CityPass so you can get great discounts on some of the city’s attractions like the Georgia Aquarium or the World of Coca Cola.
