It may only be August, and if you live in the Northeast United States, you may be more concerned about the rising water in your basement, but already the buzz is happening about Homecoming dresses.
Now I don’t know why the people of the internet chose Sunday evening after Hurricane Irene to start searching for Homecoming dresses, but that is just what they are doing. A quick check of Google Trends will tell you that it is indeed trending.
Homecoming is an annual tradition in all U.S. colleges, and are part of welcoming back alumni, usually incorporating a football game and lots of alcoholic beverages. Homecoming events usually are held in early October, though can be found in late September too.
So why the homecoming dresses? Well, in addition to plenty of tailgating and watching your home football team, there is also a formal dance. So, of course it’s just another excuse for women to go shopping for a nice dress. Usually at the homecoming dance, a Queen and King are crowned for homecoming.
Where to get your Homecoming dress
Well being the frugal fashionista that I am, I would first check out Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Ross for that one of a kind homecoming dress for less. I’ve been known to find a sweet homecoming dress for under $25 at Marshalls.
Naturally, you can search online for “Homecoming Dresses” on Google, and you will spend the next 20 hours surfing hundreds of stores that sell homecoming dresses and other formal dresses.
Either way, you’ve got plenty of time before you need that Homecoming dress, so get outside and enjoy the nice post hurricane weather, and the last few weeks of summer!
