12.4 million Viewers Worldwide Watch VMAs On Television

The organizers of this year’s Video Music Awards are in high spirit these days. This developed after show telecast live around the world is not only a success presentation wise but also in terms of viewership as well. According to reports, the VMAs television program was watched by some 12.4 million television viewers around the world a huge nine percent increase from last year.

The organizers said the viewership is also the biggest for MTV since they started measuring vie wership in 1993. This year’s VMAs has many highlight that made it a hit among the fans around the globe. In a surprise appearance and performance,  Lady Gaga dressed as a male alter-ego to open the show and brought the house down. In the program proper, pop superstars Katy Perry and Adele were the big winners as they received three trophies each, including music video of the year for Perry.

Beyonce also made headlines during the event when she announced to the world that she is pregnant with her first child from husband Jay-Z. The 29-year-old singer even cupped her growing belly to show the world how happy and proud she is of her pregnancy. Moreover, this year’s award was a huge success due to the intricate preparations made by the producers and the wide support of the fans around the world.
