Host Eddie Murphy Expected To Bring Laughs For 2012 Oscars

The forthcoming Oscars in February 2012 is expected to be filled with laughter and glitter. The Oscar organizers selected ace comedian Eddie Murphy as host in the biggest award giving bodies in American cinema. Murphy replaced this year’s host dramatic actors Anne Hathaway and James Franco.  Next year’s Oscar will be directed by superstar director Brett Rat ner who is very honored to have Murphy as host in the award giving festivity.

“Eddie is a comedic genius, one of the greatest and most influential live performers ever,” Ratner said in a statement. “With his love of movies, history of crafting unforgettable characters and his iconic performances — especially on stage — I know he will  bring excitement, spontaneity and tremendous heart to the show Don and I want to produce in February,” Ratner added. Murphy for his part is very happy and thrilled with his selection as host in Oscars. Murphy, 50, became popular in the 1982 buddy comedy “48 Hrs” and went on to star in the “Beverly Hills Cop,” “The Nutty Professor” and “Shrek” franchises.
