One of the top stars in the National Basketball Association revealed he is not closing the possibility of playing abroad if ever the current NBA lockout will not be resolved this year. Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant said he still strongly considers playing overseas if ever the lockout is not solved and the entire NBA season shelved this year.Bryant said h e wants to remain active this year and to achieve that he needs to play outside the United States if the NBA lockout remains unresolved this year.
The NBA superstar however still unsure in what country he intends to play this year. Earlier, Turkish club Besiktas said in July it was in talks with Bryant’s representatives about possibly playing for the team. If ever Bryant decides to play overseas, he would be the biggest name in the NBA who would play abroad.
The other NBA stars who already expressed intention to play abroad were Denver Nuggets free agents Wilson Chandler and J.R. Smith who both plan to play in China, Denver’s Ty Lawson will play in Lithuania and New Jersey Nets All-Star Deron Williams signed with Turkey’s Besiktas. The 33-year-old Bryant, who has won five NBA championships and been an All-Star 13 times.
According to reports, the NBA lockout is still in effect since both the NBA players and owners remains divided on how& nbsp; divide the league’s revenue, a salary cap structure and the length of guaranteed contracts.
