Christmas Shopping: Toys R US Announces Their 2011 Hot Toys List

It may only be mid September, but Toys R Us are hoping to put Christmas shopping on the minds of parents everywhere.  Each year, Toys R Us comes up with their annual Hot Toys List, 15 products that they believe will be the toys in most demand by kids.

The Christmas season is a make or break time of year for toy sellers, and it’s very important for toy sellers and manufacturers to figure out what will be hot.  They need to know this so they can have the right product mix, the correct amount of inventory to cover demand, and the right pricing.  The Christmas season accounts for a whopping 40% of toy sellers yearly profit.  In the U.S. alone, toy sales added up to $21.87 billion in 2010.

The Senior VP  and Chief Merchandising Officer of Toys R Us, Karen Dodge, said this years Hot Toys List offers a wide variety of unique toys.  Radio controlled toys seem to be a big trend this year.  Here’s a brief rundown of the list.
