American Airlines See Fewer Passengers In October 2011The bad economy of the United States continue to affect companies in America. American Airlines, one of the leading airline companies in the US recently revealed that it had less passengers in October this year compared to 2010. An American Airlines spokesman said its October traffic fell 1.1 percent compared last year.

The airline revealed in October this year their passengers flew 10.65 billion miles, compared with 10.77 billion miles in October 2010. The company also revealed that their average flight was 83.2 percent full, down from 83.6 percent a year earlier. Despite seeing fewer passengers in October, the company remains confident that they can still recover from their predicament.

American Airlines, Inc. (AA) is the world’s fourth largest airline in passenger miles transported and operating revenues. The airline was listed at No.120 on the Fortune 500 list of companies in 2010 and is a founding member of the Oneworld airline alliance.
