In what must be a fairly slow sports news day, the biggest buzz seems to be the new Miami Marlins baseball uniform unveiling. That’s right, the Florida Marlins no longer want to be associated with all of (mostly redneck) Florida, and have changed there name to the Miami Marlins. Naturally, along with their new name, they need new uniforms..and well, they’re just not that great.
The Marlins are having a special ritzy and exciting ceremony to unveil the new uniforms. Of course fans aren’t allowed in to the event, at least not until 11pm when the uniform sales begin on site.
Miami Marlins team manager Ozzie Guillen will be on hand to speak at the event, and a band is scheduled to play. They are hyping this up in an effort to gain more fans and make more money to pay for all the free agents they are rumored to be going after, such as none other than Albert Pujois.
Along with the manager Guillen, there will be several Miami Marlins players on hand to model the new uniforms including Emilio Bonifacio, John Buck, Omar Infante, Josh Johnson, Logan Morrison, Ricky Nolasco, Hanley Ramirez, Anibal Sanchez and Gaby Sanchez.
So, I guess if you’ve got nothing better to do on a Friday night in Miami, and you’re a baseball fan, and you love paying over inflated prices for a sports jersey, then this could be the event of the weekend for you.
