Latin American residents around the world had reasons to smile on Tuesday. This developed after another celebrity from Latin America received a prestigious star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, Boulevard in Los Angeles. According to reports, Columbian singing star Shakira became the third star from Latin America to get such huge honor after Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera.
Shakira, who personally attended the ceremony, was very excited and grateful with the honor given to him. She also took time to thank all the Latin American people for the support they gave her in her colorful singing career. The 34-year-old singer has won two Grammy Awards, seven Latin Grammy Awards, twelve Billboard Latin Music Awards and has been Golden Globe-nominated.
She is also the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, and the second most successful female Latin singer after Gloria Estefan, having sold over 60 million albums worldwide according to Sony Music Entertainment. Her U.S. album sales stand at 9.9 million.
