One of the rising stars in Major League Baseball, and the world, had been safely rescued after he was kidnapped outside his house in Valencia City, Venezuela. Wilson Ramos, a star catcher of Washington Nationals was rescued by Venezuelan police and commandos on Friday, two days after he was abducted by the suspects. According to reports, the 24-year-old star catcher was safely rescued from his ordeal and is now in good condition.
Three of the kidnappers of the MLB star one of whom is a known kidnapper from Columbia were also arrested in the operation in the mountainous Montalban area of Carabobo state, abou 20 miles west of Valencia. It can be recalled that Ramos was talking with some friends when he was kidnapped by the suspects. The kidnapping of the baseball superstar shocked the whole Venezuelan nation prompting the government to launched an all-out rescue operation to get Ramos.
Luckily for the Venezuelan police they were able to successfully rescue the MLB star. Ramos expressed joy over his rescue and thanked the police for their efforts in getting him from his kidnappers. It was learned that the kidnappers is set to demand huge amount of money from Ramos before he was rescued by the police. Residents of Venezuela hoped the safe return of Ramos will pave the way for the eradication of kidnapping which has plagued the country for the past few years.
