We wrote a couple weeks ago about the massively successful launch of Call of Duty 3: Modern Warfare. The latest Call of Duty game broke the single day sale record by a huge margin. But if you’re one of the fans that did NOT buy the game yet as you weren’t sure if it was worth the money, well you now have another option to try it without shelling out 50 bucks. Redbox just announced today that Call of Duty 3: Modern Warfare is now available for rent through the Redbox vending machines.
After brisk first day sales, reviews are starting to trickle out around the web, and reviews are not exactly stellar. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that the game is bad, it just seems it’s not as good as previous Call of Duty games such as Black Ops, or not exactly what people expected. Not bad, just different seems to be the general theme of reviews.
Some are not happy with the auto aim feature, or the perks system. Some say the graphics of Call of Duty 3 are not as realistic as previous releases and that the game play is way faster. People are also saying the single player game is good but short, and the multiplayer is on par with Modern Warfare 2. It seems for all intent and purposes, this game is just Call of Duty 2: Modern Warfare.
Redbox users are all recommending that you should rent Call of Duty 3: Modern Warfare for a couple days rather than buying, as you may just not like it that much, thus saving you some bucks if you decide it’s just not your cup of tea. You can rent it here.
