Wisconsin Couple Face Charges For Starving Baby To Avoid Obesity

A couple in Appleton, Wisconsin is now facing a criminal case for allegedly starving their own baby to ensure she will not become obese. Christopher and Mary Sultze were charged with one count of child neglect for their bizarre and cruel action. According to reports, the baby was born in July of 2010 weighing over eight pounds.

The doctors said they were surprised what the baby only gained five pounds in 14 months. The doctors said when they checked the baby they discovered that she lacked sufficient calories to gain weight. Upon investigation they discovered that the baby’s parents intentionally starved her so that she will not gain weight.

The father said he did not want his angel to get obese since he discovered that he has a blocked artery at 25 years old.  It was learned that due to case, the couple are currently prohibited from having direct contact with their daughter. If found guilty in their case, the couple could also face a year and a half in prison along with a $25,000 fines.
