Professional boxing fans who wants to see Filipino boxing superstar fight undefeated American boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. soon, has to kiss their dream goodbye at the moment. The expected May 5 fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather will not yet happen.
Pacquiao’s financial adviser Michael Koncz revealed the mega-fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather could not happen yet since the 45,000-seat boxing arena being built in Las Vegas, and the supposed venue of their fight is not yet finished. Konz said Pacquiao wants to fight on the biggest arena in Las Vegas to bring joy to a lot of fans of the sport of professional boxing. Bob Arum, the president of Top Rank Promotions and promoter of Pacquiao for his part said the May 5 could not happen yet since Mayweather has outrageous demands for their fight.
Arum said Pacquiao wants to a have a a t least 50 percent share of the fight revenues and not just go to the ring against Mayweather on a percentage purse. Pacquiao for his part said he is very eager to fight Mayweather, but before that fight could happen he needs to have a good share in the fight purse.
