CNBC is reporting that down and out Canadian phone maker Research In Motion (RIMM) could announce a deal to sell the company at around $25 per share. There is no statement acknowledging the deal by RIMM, however it is rumored to involve Android phone maker Samsung.
Message boards, like Yahoo Finance are abuzz over the rumored takeover of the once high flying Canadian phone maker.
RIMM share price spiked up in morning trading, on some pretty decent volume. Options volume is abnormally high as well, with over 60,000 contracts trading so far this morning, compared to usual volume of one third that amount on average.
Stay tuned for more info, as/if it comes out.
