Professional tennis superstar Novak Djokovic started 2012 with a bang by winning the the recent Australian Open over tough rival Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal. Djokovic beat Nadal in a thrilling five hour and 53 minutes four-set battle 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 7-5 to rule the prestigious tennis Grand-slam event.
According to reports, the exciting championship battle between Djokovic and Nadal in the 2011 Australian Open, is now considered as the longest continuous match in major history and the third-longest overall. Djokovic who is the brightest male tennis star last year, was very determined to in the championship game as he battle Nadal toe to toe. But like a real Spanish hombre, Nada l fought gallantly against Djokovic but his efforts just fell short in the end.
Djokovic was very happy with his win and also congratulated Nadal for a great performance in their championship match. The victory is the third straight major title for Djokovic who remains the man to beat in professional tennis for men this year.
