February 29, 2012 (LOS ANGELES) – The Los Angeles Convention Center will host more than 11,000 professionals attending this year’s Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition / National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC) from March 4 to March 9. In this gathering of innovative high-technology leaders in various areas of the industry, more than 500 exhibitors will showcase the most recent advancements in optical communications technologies.
OFC/NFOEC will consist of a conference component from March 4 to March 8 and an exposition from March 6 to March 8. The event will cover the entirety of the Los Angeles Convention Center’s South Hall, equating to nearly five football fields of exhibit space.
The conference will offer a comprehensive technical program with hundreds of sessions for workshops, tutorials, short courses and paper presentations. Keynote speakers in the Plenary Session will discuss “Bandwidth, Optics and the age of Abundance,” “How to Design and Build Your Very Own Exascale Computer,” and “Disaster Recovery and the R&D Policy in Japan’s Telecommunication Networks.”
During the exposition, leading companies will present new products and services, along with industry and business programming, on the show floor. Exhibitors include network and test equipment vendors, sub-system and component manufacturers, and software, fiber cable and specialty fiber manufacturers.
“We are honored to take part in this influential networking and learning experience for the optical communications industry. The 2012 OFC/NFOEC event will provide professionals with the opportunity to gain insight and competitive edge from experts and peers in various telecommunications fields,” said Pouria Abbassi, P.E., General Manager and CEO of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
