Twister Kills 9 In Illinois And Kansas States

Nine people were reported killed when a twister hit small towns in Illinois and Kansas early morning on Wednesday. According to reports, the deadly twister hit the country music towns at the start of the tourist season.

Among those damaged in the deadly winds were some of the famous theaters in the area which is considered as tourism hubs of the two towns. Aside from the casualties, initial reports, also said that 37 other people were also badly hurt by the twister in Branson. Branson Mayor Raeanne Presley said he is happy that most of his constituents were inside their homes when the Twister arrived which saved them from immediate death if most of them were on outdoors.

Meteorologist Rick Shanklin revealed the storm was 200 yards wide with winds up to 170 mph. Local officials on the affected towns already provided medical care to the affected residents. It was learned that tornado season normally starts in March, but it isn’t unusual to see severe storms earlier in the year.
