The little girl who was found in the field after the violent tornadoes died on Sunday after the decision to take her off life support. The little girl who was fifteen months old was from Pekin, Indiana. Her father, Joseph Babcock, age twenty-one, her mother Moriah Brough age twenty, her brother, age two, and her baby sister, age two months died when the tornado ripped through the mobile home. On Friday when she arrived at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY, she was opening her eyes, which everyone took as a hopeful sign.
On Saturday, things took a turn for the worse when her eyes ceased to move, and the swelling in her brain did not decrease. As the day went on she continued to deteriorate. When the family was told that there was nothing more the hospital could do, they decided to end life support on Sunday. With her death, this brings the death rate to thirty nine people in five states.
