1 Dead and 1 Wounded in Chicago Weekend Shootings

As of Friday night, at least one person has been shot and killed, and another has been hurt. The victims range in age from 17 to 31.

A 31-year-old man is shot outside in West Englewood on Friday night, which is the first shooting of the weekend.

Police say that the victim was shot in the 6300 block of South Ashland Avenue at about 7:05 p.m. by a person they don’t know.

He was in good shape when he was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

Five minutes before the shooting, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Montclare neighborhood during a fight.

In the 6700 block of West Belmont, the victim was fighting with a known suspect. The suspect pulled out a gun, shot the victim once, and then ran away, police said.

The victim was shot in the lower left side of his abdomen. The Chicago Fire Department took him to Loyola Hospital in critical condition, where he was soon pronounced dead.

In either shooting, no one was caught.
