On early Sunday, an SUV carrying seven members of one family was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle in Southern California, k!lling two children and an adult and injuring six others.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, a collision involving a Chevrolet Suburban and a Tesla sedan occurred on Interstate 10 in the Whitewater region, northeast of Palm Springs, at around 7:30 a.m.
After hitting the center divider, the Suburban carrying nine people from Anaheim flipped over, and at least six people were thrown from the vehicle, according to authorities. According to ABC 7, a 31-year-old woman and two young girls (ages 10 and 12) were slain.

The TV station stated that three girls, ages 3, 7, and 11, and a male, age 15, were critically injured, while two adults suffered mild or moderate injuries. The driver and only passenger of the Tesla, a 31-year-old male from Indio, walked away unharmed.
The highway’s eastbound lanes were closed for the better part of the day. It was still unclear what caused the cr@sh.
