Police Report 3 Guys Were Stabbed in an Incident Close to the University of Iowa

On Saturday, college and police officials confirmed that three males had been stabbed in an incident close to the University of Iowa. The three injured people have been taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where they will receive treatment for their wounds.

“Initial investigation has determined that the fight was among parties known to each other and that there is no direct threat to the general public. This incident remains under active investigation. No further information will be released at this time,” Iowa City Police said in a statement.

The Iowa City police official told ABC News that he could not confirm whether or whether the victims were students, but that they were “about that age.” Local police say the incident happened at 1:55 a.m. At 2:08 a.m. local time, the University of Iowa issued a warning that a stabbing had occurred close by a petrol station and a community recreation area.

Multiple fatalities were reported by police at 2:27 a.m. “ICPD continues to investigate. Incident appears isolated. Resume normal activity but remain vigilant,” the school said in an alert about an hour later. The university requested that anyone with information regarding the event get in touch with the Iowa City PD.

After a string of fatal stabbings at UC Davis, this occurrence comes as a shock. This Monday, prosecutors accused a former student of the stabbing deaths of two and the injury of another.
