3 People Were Hurt In A Carjacking Accident In St. Louis

At around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, an SUV struck a car that had been stolen in a carjacking and had run a red light at North 20th Street and Delmar Boulevard.
A recent carjacking victim’s vehicle was engaged in a collision on Wednesday afternoon in the city’s Downtown West district, according to police.

Police in St. Louis A white Nissan Altima that had been stolen was discovered by a joint task team of local and federal investigators who were looking into a recent spate of carjackings, according to Major Janice Bockstruck. It was sought for, according to a police source, in relation to the fatal shooting of a woman on Tuesday night in the 4700 block of Compton Avenue.

Three persons inside the Nissan stepped out and into a car that was taken in a different carjacking in south St. Louis in December as officers in undercover cars observed, according to Bockstruck.

The second vehicle then continued on North 20th Street in the direction of Delmar Boulevard and ran a red light at the intersection.

The stolen car was struck on the driver’s side by an SUV that was going east on Delmar Boulevard, forcing it to flip over and destroy a traffic light near the northeast corner of North 20th Street.

According to Johnny Brown Jr., he was the SUV’s victim.

Brown claimed that when this occurred, he was returning home from the bank.

“The light was green and I was standing on Delmar and 20th. As I was walking down the street, there was a boom. I had no idea where they originated “Black remarked.

He claimed that the incident that came within millimetres of gravely harming or killing him had left him only slightly disturbed.

“I believe I’ll be alright. I’ll likely experience that tomorrow “Black remarked.

The suspects were apprehended, according to Brown, but more needs to be done.

“Not just the police, but everything needs to be addressed. Now is the time for everyone to come together. We must work as a team since we can’t do it alone “Black stated.

Bockstruck said that the vehicle’s tyres were deflated and that it was being “covertly followed.”

A man can be seen exiting the car’s driver’s side after the crash in surveillance footage that 5 On Your Side was able to obtain. Then, a number of unmarked police cars arrive, and policemen exit with their weapons drawn. The man was apprehended following a brief foot chase.

The three occupants of the stolen car, thought to be two teenage boys and the man as well, were characterised by Bockstruck as having “stable” circumstances.

There may have been guns in the car, according to the police. It would be hauled to a lab for processing, according to Bockstruck.
