3 Shot in Overland Park Hotel Parking Lot Early Saturday

A statement from the police says that three people were shot early Saturday morning after a “verbal disturbance” in the parking lot of an Overland Park hotel.

Around 2 a.m., police in Overland Park were called to the 7500 block of Shawnee Mission Parkway because someone had been shot.

Officers went to the scene and found a person who had been shot. A news statement from the Overland Park Police Department says that the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The tweet below confirms the news:

The police then found out that a car with two people in it had left the area before they got there. Soon after, they found the two people, who had both been shot. They were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

While the cops are still looking into what happened, they think it started with a fight between two groups of people. Police say that as the fight got worse, guns were pulled out and shots were fired.

“This is thought to be an isolated incident, and everyone involved has been found,” the release says.

As of Saturday morning, no official charges had been decided.
