After a shooting and police chase on Sunday night at the Southlands shopping mall in Aurora, four suspects have been apprehended. The Aurora Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 6100 block of South Aurora Parkway at approximately 10:00 p.m.

When police arrived, they discovered numerous shot casings in the parking lot, each of a different caliber. At least one shop instituted a lockdown. The suspect car, a black sedan, was described to police by eyewitnesses.

Five minutes after officers arrived, they found the car believed to be associated with the crime. The suspects fled at high speed as law enforcement tried to pull them over. The pursuit ended when police lost sight of the car at the intersection of South Picadilly Road and South Rivera Way.

A short time later, the suspect’s car collided with another, causing the victim’s car to flip over. Four occupants of the suspect vehicle escaped on foot after the collision. When the crash occurred, officers from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol responded to help clean up the scene and look for the perpetrators.

Three miles to the north, near the intersection of East Hampden Avenue and South Killarney Street, the criminals were tracked down. The suspects fled from police, who then gave chase.

Two of the suspects were apprehended in the 20400 block of East Duke Drive, in the rear of a house. Both of the remaining suspects were located nearby and apprehended. Only one of the four suspects is a minor; the others are all adults.
