Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say that an 8-year-old girl was seriously hurt when a gunshot ripped through her home in the middle of the night.
The child’s name has not been made public.
It happened around 1 a.m. Monday, April 24, near the 2800 block of Burbank Drive. Single-family homes are in the University Park neighborhood, near Lasalle Street.
“When officers got there, they found a home that had been shot into and a girl who was 8 years old with injuries that could kill her,” CMPD said in a news release.
“MEDIC took the injured person to the hospital. The victim is in critical but stable condition right now.”
Investigators haven’t said if they know who shot the person or not.
