A 2-year-old Standing in Front of a Door Was Sh*t and K!lled by a Passing Car

A 2-year-old girl was standing in front of a home’s front door when she was shot and killed in a drive-by. She was one of six kids at home when the killing happened.

Around 1:30 p.m., police were called to a house in San Antonio. Monday, May 8, KSAT caught what Police Chief William McManus said at a news conference.

McManus said that a child who lived in the house was found dead after being shot.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office told the San Antonio Express-News that the name of the child was Mackenzie Hernandez Garcia.

“A 2-year-old child who was standing in front of the door at the time was hit,” McManus said.

Authorities don’t think that the girl was meant to be hit.

McManus said, “Unfortunately, she was in the wrong place when the shot was fired.”

The cops have confirmed that she was killed in a drive-by shooting, and they have found a person who might be responsible. The person’s name is not being given out by the authorities.

He said, “I hope that lead pays off and leads to an arrest.”

The San Antonio Police Department wants the public’s help to figure out who was driving a pickup truck that was seen speeding away from the killing scene.

“The pickup appears to be a black in color Chevy with chrome rims and a temporary license plate,” officials said in the following post:

“Whoever did this is a pathetic person who didn’t care who might get hurt,” McManus said. “It’s really sad.”

The other children in the house, who were between 2 and 6 years old, were not hurt, the police chief said.

Police said that the home “has not been a problem house,” and it’s thought that “a single incident” led to the killing.

McManus said that based on what they know so far, it looks like a woman living in the house was watching children from the neighborhood. However, this has not been proven. The Child Protective Services are looking into it.
