A Massive Texas Dairy Farm Fire Was Started By An Engine Fire In A Manure Hauler

According to state authorities, an engine fire in a manure vacuum vehicle cleaning a portion of the enormous barn caused an accident that resulted in a fire and explosion at a dairy farm in the Texas Panhandle that k!lled around 18,000 cattle and injured one human.

In the below tweet, you can see the video when the explosion happened at the diary last month.

The origin of the April 10 fire at the Southfork Dairy Farm, which is 50 miles (80 kilometers) southwest of Amarillo, was not identified in a State Fire Marshal report, but it was concluded that “no intentional act to cause a failure” occurred. The investigation, according to the April 24 report, was over.

Investigators learned from a worker driving the truck through a portion of the 2 million-square-foot barn that he initially thought he saw steam coming from the engine. When he noticed there was a fire, he attempted to drive out of the barn but was unable.

The driver said that he used two extinguishers to put out the flames but was unsuccessful. Investigators were told by several additional employees that they hurried to assist, but the fire swiftly spread.

A second manure-hauling truck belonging to the dairy farm was highlighted in the report as being on the site outside the barn. Investigators were told by a dairy manager that it had also burnt in the past. According to the investigation, burn scars near the engine compartment were caused by the truck fire that occurred inside the barn.

The incident was one of the deadliest farm fires ever seen, according to the Animal Welfare Institute, which has been keeping track of fires since 2013.
