American actor Adam Rich was born on October 12, 1968, and died on January 7, 2023. He became famous for his role as Nicholas Bradford in the TV series Eight Is Enough, which aired for five years (1977–1981). Rich’s pageboy haircut helped make him “America’s little brother” on the show.

Fentanyl is being blamed for the death of Adam Rich, the child actor known as “America’s little brother” for his role in the smash hit family drama “Eight is Enough.”
According to the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner Coroner’s office, the former television personality died as a result of an accident in January of this year. At the age of 54, Rich passed away in his Los Angeles home.
At age eight, he shot to fame as Dick Van Patten’s character, a mop-topped boy reared by a widowed newspaper columnist on ABC’s “Eight is Enough.” In the 1980s, he guest starred on shows including “Code Red” and “Dungeons & Dragons.”

In addition to making guest appearances on series like “Baywatch” and “The Love Boat,” he also returned to his role in “Eight is Enough” for two TV movie reunions. Rich had several brushes with the law because of his substance abuse.
He was first apprehended in April 1991 for an attempted pharmacy robbery, and then again in October of same year for the alleged theft of a drug-filled syringe from a hospital where he was being treated for a dislocated shoulder.
After hitting a parked California Highway Patrol cruiser in a blocked motorway lane in 2002, he was arrested for driving under the influence. Just before he passed away, Rich opened up about his struggles with depression and substance misuse.
He overdosed multiple times, was arrested multiple times, and finally got sober in October after tweeting about it. Never quit up, he told his supporters. When Rich passed away in January, his publicist Danny Deraney revealed that Rich had battled an untreatable form of depression.
According to Deraney, he sought out alternative treatments for his depression in an effort to reduce the stigma associated with discussing mental health issues. “He was just a very kind, generous, loving soul,” Deraney said in a statement. “Being a famous actor is not necessarily what he wanted to be. … He had no ego, not an ounce of it.”cause of death.
