After a Gunshot in Fresno, a Man is in Critical Condition

Police say that a man who was shot Tuesday night in central Fresno was taken to the hospital.

Fresno Police Lt. Robert Dewey said that officers from the Fresno Police Department went to the 1900 block of East Grant Avenue at 10:45 p.m. because someone had been shot there.

Officers found the man in his 40s at a home near Belmont Avenue and Abby Street. He had been shot at least once in the lower body. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where police say he is in critical but stable condition.

The tweet below verifies the news:

Dewey said the man’s girlfriend and went to a relative’s house when they saw he had been shot. Police are trying to figure out what happened before the shooting because they haven’t found a reason why it happened.

Dewey said that they are looking into where the shooting took place. ShotSpotter did not go off electronically.

He said he didn’t know if the shooting had anything to do with a gang.
