Alabama Birthday Party Shooting K!lls 1, Injures Three

Authorities in Alabama said that a shooting at a birthday party in Birmingham killed one person and hurt three others.

Assistant public information officer Truman Fitzgerald said in a video statement that the killing happened around 10 p.m. local time on Friday. Officers from the South Precinct of the Birmingham Police Department were sent to the 900 block of 47th Street North after hearing that several people had been shot.

Video statement from Assistant public information officer Truman Fitzgerald:

Fitzgerald said that when police arrived, they found an adult woman who was hurt in front of an apartment.

Responders saw “at least three adult males who had been shot” inside the apartment, which was again in front of an apartment.

Officers gave medical care until firefighters and rescue workers from Birmingham arrived. Fitzgerald said that all of the wounded were taken to nearby hospitals. The woman had injuries that were not caused by the shooting but were not clear.

Fitzgerald said that a guy was found to be dead at the hospital.  CBS42 named the guy as Roshode Davidson, who is 36 years old.

Fitzgerald said that the first results of the investigation show that the group was “having a party and celebrating a birthday” at home.
