Alabama Medical Helicopter Crash Kills 2

After their helicopter crashed in Shelby County, Alabama, on Sunday night, two members of a medical crew died, and one is still in very bad shape.

The chief deputy said that Shelby County deputies then set up a place for the helicopter to land near Highway 280 and Bear Creek Road.

The company that owns the LifeSaver helicopter, Air Methods, said in a statement that there was an accident when the helicopter landed.

One of the crew members was pronounced dead at the scene, and the hiker and the other two crew members were taken to a nearby hospital. Hammac said that one of the two people who were taken to the hospital died there. Air Methods said in a statement that the third crew member is still in very bad shape.

Hammac said that the NTSB will do a full investigation of the crash with help from the FAA.
