Alexander Johnson Gets 10 Years in Florida State Prison for Manslaughter

Alexander Johnson was found guilty of manslaughter this week in St. Johns County and given a sentence of 10 years in Florida State Prison.

News in Action Jax told you back first. Alexander Reece Johnson, who was 18 at the time, was arrested by police in November 2021. Johnson had shot and killed someone at the Voco hotel in historic St. Augustine.

Johnson told St. Augustine Police Detectives that he shot the victim in the head while “playing” with a gun in a hotel room.

The case was looked into by the police in St. Augustine.

The case was won for the State by Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Dunton. The case was heard and the sentence was given by the Honorable Lee Smith.
