On Saturday, a gunman opened fire in Texas, k!lling at least seven people, including a 3-year-old kid and his parents, two elementary school children, and a young Indian engineer. According to the reports, James Cho lost both of his parents, Cho Kyu Song (age 37) and Kang Shin Young (age 35), in a car accident.

His younger sibling, aged six, was hurt but managed to pull through. The id’s come as authorities look at whether the murderer was affiliated with any far-right groups or ideologies. In the sh*oting, eight people lost their lives. Still hospitalized are a number of those who were hurt.

A GoFundMe page claims that on Saturday, the Cho family went to the Allen Premium Outlets mall to return some of the birthdays presents their son, then six years old, had received.

“An afternoon that should have been filled with light, love and celebration unfortunately was cut short by another mass sh*oting massacre,” friends of the family wrote on the page.

Diplomats have been in touch with the Cho family, and the Korean consulate in Texas confirmed to the Dallas Morning News that the Chos are American citizens of Korean origin. Daniela and Sofia Mendoza, sisters who were in elementary school, perish*d as well.

CBS News, the BBC’s partner in the United States, reports that their mother, Ida, is still in the hospital in a critical condition. Aishwarya Thatikonda, a 27-year-old Indian engineer, and Christian LaCour, a 20-year-old security guard, were both k!lled while at the mall with a friend.

Elio Cumana-Rivas, 32, was recognized by Texas officials as the final fatality on Monday night. Dallas, Texas, was his hometown. In the north Dallas suburbs, eight persons were k!lled: six at the scene and two in the hospital.

Mauricio Garcia, the 33-year-old suspect, was k!lled by a police officer who arrived on the scene on an unrelated call.CBS says that police are now looking through the k!ller’s social media accounts to learn more about his or her ideology.

The assailant, who was armed with a rifle, was also clad in combat gear and wearing a symbol commonly linked with hate groups. He was caught on camera wearing an RWDS (for “Right Wing De@th Squad“) patch.

This is a common rallying cry for white nationalists and other far-right organisations. The suspect’s social media account on a Russian platform featured images of Nazi swastikas and SS tattoos, as well as other posts extolling Nazis and rambling comments threatening violence, as reported by BBC News.

He also shared photos from his most recent trip to the outlet mall, which was in the middle of April. After enlisting in the US Army in June 2008, the suspect was “terminated three months later without completing initial entry training” owing to “physical or mental conditions,” as stated by the US defense department.

He had no significant criminal history and was supposedly employed as a security guard at the time of the sh*oting. Authorities have looked through his former residence (an extended-stay motel) and his parents’ house.

The Gun Violence Archive counts 201 mass sh*otings this year, where at least four individuals were shot or k!lled. Those who rushed to the large outdoor mall’s victims following the massacre have spoken of their heroic efforts to rescue lives.

As this was happening, violent recordings from the incident spread swiftly and were viewed millions of times on Twitter before the social media platform started removing the footage more than 24 hours after the attack.

After “the latest act of gun violence to devastate our nation,” Vice President Joe Biden ordered flags at the White House to be lowered to half-staff in memory of the victims.

Greg Abbott, the Republican governor of Texas, told Fox News on Sunday that he was more interested in addressing the criminal use of firearms and the increasing mental health issue in the state than in considering broader prohibitions.

“People want a quick solution,” he said. “The long-term solution here is to address the mental health issue.” Allen, a racially mixed town north of Dallas, has become notorious for its ties to a second mass massacre in recent years.

In 2019, a local resident went on a sh*oting spree at a Walmart in El Paso after publishing a racist manifesto online, taking the lives of 23 people. He admitted guilt for the hate crimes in February.
