Best Buy Credit Card

Best Buy Credit Card

Electronics superstore Citi has two store cards for Best Buy that are co-branded and give you points when you shop there.

If you buy most of your gadgets there, it might make sense to carry one of these, especially considering how expensive devices like smartphones, HDTVs, and laptops can be and how quickly they become outdated. Let’s read more about Best Buy Credit Card.

How to Apply for Best Buy Credit Card?

To apply for a Best Buy Credit Card, visit the Best Buy website and click on the “Apply Now” button under the credit cards section. You can also visit the My Best Buy Credit Card page on Citibank’s website to apply.

There are different types of Best Buy Credit Cards available, including a standard My Best Buy Credit Card and a My Best Buy Visa Card. Before applying, make sure to review the terms and conditions and the rewards program for each card to determine which one is best for you. Once you’ve chosen the card you want to apply for, fill out the application form and submit it for review.

There Are Two Types of Basic Best Buy Credit Cards

Applying for a Best Buy credit card in-store or online is confusing, and you don’t get to choose which type you get.

Two basic versions:

Best Buy Card. Only Best Buy and BestBuy.com accept this “closed-loop” store card. No annual fee.

Best Buy Visa. This “open-loop” Visa card is accepted everywhere. The only difference between these cards is the annual charge. Best Buy will inform you of your approval after you apply:

Gold. It costs $59 per year.

Platinum. This version is annual-free.

Best Buy first considers applicants for the My Best Buy Visa Platinum (open-loop, no yearly charge). If you don’t qualify, you’re considered for the My Best Buy Credit Card (store card) and subsequently the My Best Buy Visa Gold (annual fee). Creditworthiness determines which version you get authorized for, which raises the question:

Best Buy credit cards require what credit score? Best Buy doesn’t set a minimum credit score. However, its offerings suggest you may be able to get a card with poor credit. in general:

Closed-loop shop cards are easier to get than open-loop ones, therefore many people with fair or average credit start with one.

Since the fee reduces risk, cards with annual fees are easier to get for people with average credit.
