Boston School Bus Driver Allegedly Assaulted by Parent

A parent is accused of hitting a Boston Public School bus driver for the second time in two months, this time in front of the children.

Boston police told Boston 25 that the mother of a student on the bus attacked the driver by punching him in the chest, breaking the rearview mirror, and then pulling out a knife.

She was upset because the bus was late, sources told Boston 25.

The Boston Police are looking into it, and sources have told Boston 25 that they have found the mother.

Parents got a letter from Boston Public Schools. It says in part:

“At the Trotter School and in all Boston Public Schools, our top goal is to give our students a safe, positive place to learn where they can thrive. People think of our buses as an extension of the school.” – Sarita Thomas Principal

The tweet below verifies the news:

In March, at the corner of Woodrow and Lyford Streets in Dorchester, a parent is said to have struck a 70-year-old BPS bus driver in front of schoolchildren.

A friend said, “I heard noise there, so I know something happened.”

The school bus driver was hit in the face multiple times, according to the police report. His left eye and lower lip were hurt.

The school bus driver told cops he didn’t know the parent, but he said the man said, “Don’t mess with my kid” before attacking.

Parents then, as they do now, worried that their children would see this kind of violence.

“I feel bad for the kids who have to watch this. “It’s scary for the kids to see the violence,” said a neighbor.
