Burglary Suspect Dies After Being Shot by Navajo Police Officer

In a statement released on Thursday, the Office of the President and Vice President of the Navajo Nation said that a man suspected of burglary was shot and later died from his gunshot wounds. This happened when he tried to run away from the Navajo Nation police.

According to the news release, an officer was sent to a local business in Window Rock, Arizona, after the business was broken into and damaged. The thing that happened around 1:40 a.m. Thursday.

During the encounter, shots were fired, and the attacker was hurt. Before being taken to the hospital, the Navajo Nation cops and Emergency Medical Services helped the person get medical care. In the end, the subject died at the hospital from his injuries.

The police officer has been put on leave while the Navajo Criminal Investigation Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) look into what happened.

The dead suspect’s name has not been made public yet.
