California Footage Shows Woman Airlifted After Car Plunges Into Sea

California film shows that a helicopter took an 18-year-old woman to safety after her car went off the Pacific Coast Highway and into the ocean.

The accident happened at 1:10 p.m. The California Highway Patrol told the Ventura County Star that the crash happened Friday, June 9, on the coastal highway near Neptune’s Net in Ventura County.

KTLA said that the cause of the crash is still being looked into.

The Ventura County Star said that the Ojai woman who was driving the Mercedes-Benz was able to get out of the car and get on the roof to wait for help.

The Ventura County Aviation Unit shared a video on Instagram that shows a helicopter pulling a woman out of the water and to safety.

The Instagram post said that she was taken to a hospital for care.

The Los Angeles Times said that “unsafe conditions” kept the police from getting the car back right away.
