The death of his three young sons has led to the indictment of a guy from Clermont County. Last week, three young boys in Clermont County, Ohio, were gunned down. Chad Doerman, their father, was apprehended and charged with aggravated murder last week. He is 32 years old.
On Thursday, a grand jury indicted Doerman on 21 charges, including nine counts of aggravated murder, eight acts of kidnapping, and four counts of felonious assault. Doerman was charged with many offenses that carry the death penalty, and if found guilty, he might be executed.

Four victims of gunfire were discovered by responding deputies outside a house on Laurel Lindale Road. First responders at the site attempted CPR on the three boys, but they were unable to save any of them. According to the sheriff’s department, all three people who were shot at the site succumbed to their wounds in the hospital.

All three brothers that were killed were relatively young. Mark Tekulve, the prosecutor for Clermont County, has promised WLWT that more details will be made public on Friday. On Friday morning, Doerman may be arraigned. The boys’ aunt has set up a GoFundMe to cover her sister’s burial costs.
The mother of the three murdered sons was discovered outside the house with a gunshot wound to her hand that was not life threatening. She received medical attention at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Sheriff Robert Leahy of Clermont County says he met her at the hospital and broke the devastating news about her three sons.
Alexis, the older sister of the lads, managed to escape the mayhem. Deputy sheriffs arrived on the location and made contact with a man who they subsequently learned was Doerman. Doerman was seated on a step outside the house. Doerman was arrested without incident and transferred to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
Doerman was arrested later that night on three counts of unspecified aggravated murder. Doerman showed up in court last Monday, wearing a ballistic vest and displaying obvious emotion during the hearing. Doerman has a job and reliable cosigners, the defense argued, therefore they requested for a $75,000 bond.
The bond of $20 million was the maximum requested by prosecutors, and Judge J.C. Nagel granted it. Clermont County’s top prosecutor, David Gast, spoke at the hearing.
“The trauma that this man has inflicted on his family, community, law enforcement, first responders, and all the rest of us is unspeakable. There has been a full admission in this case, the case is still new, we’re still discovering facts. But the evil horror of what we know is impossible to process,” Gast said in court.
“In an act of incomprehensible cruelty, the father that stands before you lined up his three young boys and executed them in his own home with a rifle. In an act of desperation, the mother at some point grabbed the gun the father was wielding to attempt to protect them.”
According to Gast, the woman was shot in the hand while trying to shield her kids. Gast said one of the boys was able to flee but said Doerman “hunted that boy down, brought him back to the property and executed him in front of witnesses.” When asked about the incident, Gast called it “one of the most monstrous, craven, cowardly acts that it will ever be our misfortune to see.” Gast testified that Doerman orchestrated the incidents as well.

Case files state that Doerman “confessed to planning and carrying out the deaths of the victims for several months.” “This did not happen on a whim. He’s confessed to what I believe is the worst crime, at least I hope, that I see in my lifetime,” Gast said in court. Gast also discussed the trauma experienced by responding law enforcement officers.
When asked how they could possibly forget such a horror, they responded, “How do you un-see such an abomination?” “Gast said.” When explaining why Doerman needs such a large bail, Gast discussed the danger he or she believes he or she poses to the neighborhood. The circumstances of this instance are unique and, with any luck, unprecedented, as Gast put it.
After the hearing, Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve addressed the media. “I’ve been a lawyer 35 years. This is by far the most sickening, horrifying crime I have seen. I can only imagine the terror these little boys felt and experienced,” Tekulve said. According to Tekulve, the mother saw her son being brutally murdered.
“The mother saw this, you can imagine the immense trauma and terror she experienced, and we will do the utmost that this defendant never sees the light of day again,” Tekulve said. On June 26 at 1pm, a preliminary hearing will take place.
