Last week, police reported that a Buffalo Grove woman was taken into custody for vandalizing a recently built Tesla service center in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Here’s what we understand: On March 14, at 4:07 p.m., the Buffalo Grove police were called to the Tesla Sales, Service, and Delivery Center on Dundee Road in response to a vandalism report.
Erin L. White, who is 27 years old, got arrested and faced charges for felony criminal damage to property, classified as a Class 4 Felony, and criminal trespass, classified as a Class B Misdemeanor.
Protesters and vandals across the country have been targeting Tesla car owners, dealerships, and charging stations. This is due to CEO Elon Musk’s connection with the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The department’s goal is to reduce wasteful spending and combat fraud in the federal government.
Mass federal layoffs have been a direct result of the cost-cutting measures in place.
On Friday, demonstrators in Schaumburg assembled along Golf Road, displaying signs with the message “Save Democracy” and urging for a boycott of Tesla.
While some people are in favor of Musk’s $2 trillion spending cut proposal, others argue that his involvement in government creates conflicts of interest and jeopardizes Social Security and public health programs.
There are still many things that remain a mystery to us: Buffalo Grove police did not specify the actions taken by White to vandalize the Tesla service center.
