A small plane crashed around 2 p.m., taking the lives of two guys who were on board. The Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport is the presumed crash site, as stated by county officials. The victims were officially named by officials Tuesday night.
Roger Jay Ryall, 52, is the pilot, and David J. Hughes, also 52, is a passenger from British Columbia. Officials stated that upon arrival, they found the aircraft fully engulfed in flames with the emergency parachute deployed.
As soon as the fire was put out, local authorities began searching for victims using drones and assistance from STAT Medevac. It has been speculated that the plane is a Cirrus SR-22 bearing the registration mark C-GNMT.

The jet had just taken off from Erie, Pennsylvania and was headed to an airport in Waterloo, Ontario when it crashed shortly after stopping for fuel in Jamestown. The NTSB and the FAA have promised to conduct a thorough inquiry, according to officials.
After the event, airport operations resumed as usual. The NTSB and FAA are still looking into the matter.
