His agent told Variety that he had died, but the official cause of death has not been released. Fox News was told by a person who worked for Singletary that the exact cause of death “is pending.”

Fans were shocked by his death because they were able to see him play live as recently as Friday and Saturday. This coming Thursday night, he was supposed to show up in Hickory, North Carolina.

Sad day…the greatest country voice of my time is now singing in Heaven’s band. Gonna miss you @Darylesing, wrote Craig Campbell

Charlie Daniels wrote: Just got word that Daryle Singletary has passed away. Rest in peace Buddy, you sang country like country should be sung:
Neal McCoy wrote “My good friend and one of the best pure country singers if not the best, Daryle Singletary passed away this morning. God’s choir just got a lead singer!!!”

Singletary was born and raised in Georgia. As a child, he started making music by singing gospel with his brothers and friends. He went to Nashville in 1990 and played in nightclubs there until Evergreen Records signed him in 1992. In 1995, he put out his first record.

Three of Singletary’s biggest hits, “I Let Her Lie,” “Too Much Fun,” and “I’m Living Up to Her Low Expectations,” were on the record.

“There are still people out there who want to hear traditional country music,” says a quote on Singletary’s website. The singer has also been reported as saying, “I’ve been lucky to always be able to keep it real and not have to make any concessions.”

His wife, Holly, his two sons, Jonah and Mercer, and his two daughters, Nora and Charlotte, as well as his parents, Roger and Anita Singletary, and his brother, Kevin Singletary, are the only people who will remember him.

Did Daryle Singletary Have Any Children?

Daryle Singletary was a real Southern country boy. He and his second wife Holly had four kids. Just a few days before he died, he played shows on Friday and Saturday nights. He stuck with the same hard-core country sound that got him to Nashville in the first place.

He was out of step with the Three Minute Positive Not Too Country Up-tempo Love Song Music Row recipe that has ruled so much of country music for the past 20 years.
