“Devastating” De@th of Pregnant Mother and Toddler in Idaho Home

Idaho police said Thursday that a 33-year-old woman and her 2-year-old son were found dead in their home on Wednesday.

Shoshone County Sheriff Holly Lindsey said in a Facebook post that on May 17, her office got a report of a death at a home in Wallace, Idaho. Officers arrived at the house just before 8:30 p.m. local time and found the bodies of Elizabeth Lawley and her two-year-old son who had been shot. KREM said that Lawley was “several months pregnant.”

Lindsey says that the initial investigation into the “devastating” case “suggests that Lawley probably killed her son and then herself.”

No reason was given for what Lawley was said to have done.

KREM said that the Idaho State Police are helping the sheriff’s office look into what happened to the people who died. KREM was told by the sheriff’s office that they are waiting for more details from the office of the medical examiner.

Lindsey said that the case would not be talked about again.

“As the Sheriff, I have to tell the people of Shoshone County the news, but I can’t in good conscience put the family through any more pain by talking about this more,” she said. “This is the last thing we’ll say about this tragedy.”

Lindsey said she had never seen the sheriff’s office “so sad” or “devastated” as they were while they were looking into the case.

“Today was a very hard day for the family, our office, and this town as a whole. “I can’t even think about what the family must be going through,” she said.

She finished the news release by calling people herself.
