On Saturday night, a guy was taken into custody by Des Moines Police and charged with fatally stabbing another man.
Jason Gene Parker, a resident of Des Moines, was detained by police and accused. In connection with the death of a 33-year-old man, Parker is accused of first-degree murder.
Officers and firefighters from the Des Moines Fire Department arrived at 3211 30th Street last night at 11:26 p.m. after learning of a stabbing.
Officers arrived on the scene and discovered the man had been stabbed in the chest. Prior to the arrival of the ambulance and the man’s transfer to a nearby hospital, witnesses and police officers at the scene performed CPR. Due to the wounds, the 33-year-old passed away.
Detectives from the Des Moines Police Department arrested Parker in the 2700 block of Boston Avenue at 3:05 a.m. on Sunday. According to the police, there is evidence at the crime scene that points to Parker as the suspect, including a knife that was found there, numerous witnesses, and security footage.
Detectives with the Des Moines Police Department are looking into the incident. This is 2023’s third homicide.
