Ecso Arrests 19-year-old for Attempting to Kill Woman in Early April Gunfire

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook on Wednesday that an April shooting led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Pensacola man.

After officers found out that Darien Johnson was a suspect in a shooting on Potomac Drive on April 7, they arrested him and charged him with attempted murder, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and resisting an officer.

The ECSO said in a post that a “female victim with a gunshot wound was found and taken to a local hospital.”

When the driver of a stolen car ran away from a traffic stop on Tuesday, Johnson was in the car with him. When the driver of the stolen car stopped the car, Johnson is said to have thrown a gun while running away.

Johnson is being held in Escambia County Jail without release at the moment.

Three guys walked up to a house in the 1000 block of Potomac Drive and started shooting into the yard, according to Seals’ arrest report. They are said to have gotten into a car, sped off, and then come back a short time later and fired more shots as they drove by the house.

The tweet below confirms the news:

A short time later, the police found the men in a stolen truck, and after a short chase, they caught Seals and Whiting. Seals were said to have been found with a Glock handgun that matched shell casings found at the killing scene.

He was charged with one count of attempted murder, fleeing and evading police, resisting an officer without violence, and a number of weapon crimes. Whiting is accused of hiding a gun, having a gun while a Florida criminal, and fighting an officer without violence.
