The horrifying attempt to rob a Connecticut home by an armed robber who disguised himself as a delivery man was seen on a home surveillance camera. The homeowner reacted instantly, pushing the intruder away in self-defense. The attempted house invasion was reported by the East Haven Police Department in Connecticut on Friday, April 14.

Police say that at around 10:00 a.m., Xavier Otero, 37, posed as a deliveryman by approaching a house while wearing a fluorescent orange safety vest and carrying a manila parcel. A silver Dodge Ram Pickup truck can be seen lurking in the background of the Ring surveillance camera, not far from the house of the unwary family.

Otero is seen knocking on the door and claiming the parcel is his. Otero drew a black revolver from his waistband and entered the house. Before he could get very far inside, the homeowner shoved him back out onto the porch.
