Fatal Dirt Bike Accident Claims 13-Year-Old at Finger Lakes State Park

On Saturday afternoon, a mishap at the Motorcross Track in Finger Lakes State Park claimed the life of a 13-year-old kid.

The collision occurred soon after 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the crash report, the child was riding his dirt bike over a raised portion of the track when he lost control. The bicycle took flight. When the bike hit the ground, the child was thrown from it.

Until first responders from Boone Hospital and Boone Fire Protection District came and took control, bystanders administered CPR, according to Boone Fire.

The boy was taken by life flight to University Hospital, where at 2:23 p.m. he was pronounced de@d.
