Los Angeles resident Arnold Schwarzenegger took matters into his own hands when he became frustrated with a massive pothole in his neighborhood. On Tuesday, the actor and former California governor posted a video to Twitter showing himself and a helper repairing a road in the Brentwood neighborhood using prefabricated concrete.
“Today, after the whole neighborhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it,” he wrote on Twitter. “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go.”
Gratitude was shouted from a car window by a grateful neighbor to the star of the action flick. Dressed like his “Terminator” character, Schwarzenegger said, “You’re welcome.” He was wearing work boots, a leather jacket, and sunglasses.
Your own effort is required. To put it mildly, this is really insane. He said, “I’ve been waiting three weeks for this crack to be sealed. Schwarzenegger’s spokesman Daniel Ketchell claimed that residents of Brentwood had repeatedly asked for repairs to be completed after winter storms had revealed potholes and fissures in the roads.
In light of what Mayor Karen Bass has called an “unprecedented” number of damaged streets throughout the city, a strategy to remedy the issue was presented last week. Officials in Los Angeles report that as of April 6th, crews had fixed at least 17,549 potholes, out of a total of 19,692 service calls for repairs since December 30th.
A request for confirmation that the Department of Public Works planned to fix the pothole Schwarzenegger patched went unanswered for some time.
